Thursday Night Free Health Clinic

126 Main St. Putney, Vt.
Every Thursday Night from 6:30 to 8pm
The Putney Walk-In Clinic, now in its 16th year, is one of the longest operating free clinics in the state of Vermont. We provide a safety net for those who are not able, for any reason, to seek medical attention through the regular channels. This program is made possible by our staff of dedicated local health providers who volunteer their time and energy at our nighttime clinic, usually after having already seen patients all day long at their respective offices.
Aside from providing acute care, we also help people access other referrals and programs that are appropriate to their situations, such as: the state's health insurance program, other state assistance programs, help obtaining prescription meds, referrals to other providers and diagnostics, referrals to smoking cessation assistance, to the Ladies First program, and so on. We help clients determine their eligibility for each program and help with the any application process that may be called for.
As a rule, we encourage patients who already have sufficient health coverage to seek attention through their regular primary care provider - however, we can and do see patients who are significantly underinsured and/or who come to us seeking referral assistance.
The clinic is open Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8 pm at the Putney Medical Office. We see patients on a first-come first-serve basis, and so we ask that people arrive early. For further information about the clinic please call Leon at 387 2120 (the phone number of Putney Family Services).
